Rajan Bhandari

Rajan Bhandari is a PhD candidate in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University. He is from Nepal. He completed his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at the Institute of Engineering, Thapathali Campus, Nepal. Rajan joined Auburn University and VSDDL in the spring of 2022. His PhD thesis focuses on the multidisciplinary design and optimization of novel aircraft configurations with electrified propulsion architectures for advanced air mobility. Rajan was in the winning team of DBVF 2022-23. He also won vertical flight foundation’s Barry J. Baskett scholarship in the Master’s category in 2024. He is a student member of the Vertical Flight Society (VFS) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
